Edgewood Partners Insurance Center (EPIC), a retail property, casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage, has appointed Cheryl Downey as the new senior vice president of its San Ramon-based Programs Group.

Ms Downey was the principal architect of the group insurance programs for pizza restaurants, including independents, chains and large franchise organizations across the US.

Prior to joining EPIC, Ms Downey was a founder of Summit Risk Management where she developed a new risk management system that enabled pizza restaurants to buy delivery insurance in the standard market.

Ms Downey will focus on risk management and insurance needs of the pizza restaurant business as a part of EPIC Programs Group, including acquisition of new clients and expanding the Programs Group’s hospitality industry resources.

Seth Madnick, managing principal of Programs Group at EPIC, said: “Cheryl’s knowledge of the pizza restaurant business and her leadership in creating innovative, cost effective group insurance programs make her an outstanding addition to our team.”
