Eagle Insurance Services, wholly-owned subsidiary of Maryland-based EagleBank, has appointed Kenneth Van Valkenburgh as new vice president.

Van Valkenburgh will be responsible for facilitating the marketing of insurance products and services to EagleBank’s business, personal and professional customers. He will report to Laurence Bensignor, senior vice president of Eagle Bancorp.

Van Valkenburgh has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry in the Washington, DC area. For the past five years, he was with a local agency of MassMutual, overseeing several areas of the agency. Prior to that, he was a brokerage manager at Belman Klein Associates from 2003 to 2004. He also worked for Capital Synergies, Clements & Company and Metropolitan Life Insurance.

Bensignor said Van Valkenburgh is an experienced licensed insurance agent. He joins Eagle in the continuation of his 20-plus year career in the financial services industry.

"Van Valkenburgh will manage our insurance referral program and will spearhead our efforts to organize seminars on insurance topics for our customers," Bensignor said.
