Dogtag, the UK's travel insurance brand for activity and sport-oriented travelers, has expanded into the North American travel insurance market with the launch in the US and Canada.

According to Dogtage, the 100% Proof Travel Insurance serves three main purposes including 24-hour emergency information with emergency contact numbers on person while on your travels; it carries name and unique Dogtag identity number that allows for easy identification on call; and Dogtag emergency web address & phone number that enables to log in to emergency page for information.

As part of the expansion, the company’s US subsidiary, Dogtag Inc has partnered with America’s travel insurance company the Travel Guard.

Mike Welby, joint founder of Dogtag, said: We needed to find an underwriter with the flexibility and willingness to provide the sort of cover that our particular customer demographic is looking for.

Dave Rice, Welby’s partner and co-founder of Dogtag, said: We’re currently working one or two new travel products and are looking at other specialist niche markets. One of these is highly specialist and we’ll be announcing that in two months’ time.

“The North American site runs on this technology and it was pioneered last December with the launch of a specialist product for snowsports professionals.
