Low-cost carrier Deccan has partnered with ICICI Lombard General Insurance to introduce a travel insurance scheme for people who fly the carrier, reported the Press Trust of India.

The domestic insurance scheme, which covers medical expense, possible loss from ticklet cancellation and baggage loss or misplacement, will reportedly offer security against losses caused to people who travel through Deccan, and costs INR99 per person.

The benefits provided by ICICI Lombard include refund of medical expenses of up to INR75,000 incurred within 24 hours of any physical injury. In case a medical emergency or natural calamity hampers the trip, the traveler will reportedly get a repayment of INR10,000.

The policy, which is valid for 30 days, also offers a payment of up to INR5,000 check-in baggage loss or delay beyond six hours at a destination. It can reportedly be cancelled following cancellation of a Deccan flight.
