CNA, a commercial insurance writer and a property and casualty company, has appointed John Ryszetnyk as the new assistant vice president, and Roger Ecoff as the risk control consulting director for its ocean marine operation.

In his new role, Mr Ryszetnyk will manage the hull and protection & indemnity (P&I), marine liabilities and excess liabilities lines of business and also the St Louis, New Orleans, Houston, Seattle and New York branches.

Prior to joining CNA, Mr Ryszetnyk served as an assistant vice president for Starr Marine Agency. He also held various ocean marine underwriting positions for American International Marine Agency, Liberty International Underwriters, and the Water Quality Insurance Syndicate.

Mr Ecoff, as a risk control consulting director, will handle risk control for ocean marine’s national book, including Hull, P&I and marine liabilities. He most recently worked with MCM Loss Control. He has also worked in risk control at PLI Marine, CNA/MOAC and St Paul Companies/Neare, Gibbs & Co.
