To execute profitable growth strategies in the region
CNA Financial has appointed Gary Owcar as president and chief operating officer (COO) of CNA Canada, effective from September 14, 2009. In his new role, Mr. Owcar will be responsible for executing profitable growth strategies in the global insurer’s Canadian operations.
Tim Szerlong, president, Worldwide Field Operations of CNA, said: “I have had the pleasure of working with Gary over the course of our careers, so I know first hand that he will provide great leadership to the CNA Canada team.”
Mr. Owcar joined CNA in 1999 to lead its global operations. Prior to this, he served at The Chubb for 19 years. During his time at The Chubb, he grew its Asia Pacific operations from four small offices to a cohesive zone of 13 offices in ten countries with a highly diverse, integrated team.
