US-based commercial insurer CNA Financial Corporation (CNA) has appointed Michael Strakhov as the new vice president for its Ohio branch, located in Columbus, US.

Strakhov, in his new role will be responsible for synchronizing branch operations with the company’s strategic goals for long-term success, including increasing local authority at the point of sale and improving service to agents and brokers in the region.

Prior to joining CNA, Strakhov worked as vice president of field operations of First Niagara Risk Management in Rochester, New York.

Strakhov, who started his career as a claim adjuster with Hatch-Leonard/Markin Shaw, also held various senior roles in business development, sales, underwriting and branch management at The Chubb Company.

Established in 1897, CNA is a commercial insurance writer and the property and casualty company that offers standard commercial lines, specialty lines, surety, marine and other property and casualty coverages.
