US-based commercial insurer CNA Financial Corporation has named Charles O'Donnell as commercial underwriting officer (CUO) for its Boston branch office.
In his role, O’Donnell will add local underwriting leadership and technical underwriting capabilities to branch offices in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine in order to ensure that the full complement of CNA’s products and services are presented to every account.
O’Donnell comes to this position having previously served as CUO for CNA’s Dallas branch office where he was responsible for the states of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Prior to joining CNA in 2009, O’Donnell served as vice president of commercial markets for Zurich Financial Services.
O’Donnell began his insurance career 25 years ago at The St. Paul Companies where he held various underwriting and management roles, including spending five years in its New England Service Center.
