CNA Europe has appointed Roy Alexander as director of operations and information technology (IT), based in CNA Europe’s London headquarters in Minster Court, effective immediately.

Roy joins CNA Europe after four years with Amlin.

During his time at Amlin, Roy was group chief technology officer. In this role, he was responsible for Global IT service delivery and development.

He also developed the governance and strategy to support the business through its growth plans and Solvency II requirements.

Prior to this, Roy spent eight years at Chaucer Syndicates, latterly as IT director, developing and implementing IT strategy and infrastructure across a network of offices in the UK and Europe.

He began his insurance career at Jago Managing Agency.

Previously, he worked for a leading software house developing and implementing insurance based solutions, having originally trained as an electrical engineer with Shell UK.

CNA Europe CEO John Hennessy said having over 26 years of experience developing operations and IT in the London and European insurance markets makes Roy one of the most experienced practitioners in this highly specialised arena.

"As we continue to grow our European office network, his experience in large, diversified insurance companies will enable us to build on our strategy to improve efficiency, maintain the infrastructure needed to support our underwriting operations and provide optimum service for our broker partners," Hennessy said.
