Wisconsin-based Capitol Insurance has appointed new management for its business units with several promotions.

The insurer has promoted Kevin Klestinski as new vice president of property & casualty(P&C) underwriting. He joined Capitol in 2006 as director of marketing operations. He also worked closely with P&C underwriting. In November 2008, he became director of P&C underwriting – independent agents.

Richard Boettner has been promoted to director of underwriting – brokerage & general agent binding. He joined Capitol in July 2002 as staff services director, moved into the P&C underwriting department in May 2004 as P&C manager, and was promoted to director of P&C underwriting – independent agents in April 2005. In March of 2006, he became the director of P&C underwriting – brokerage.

David Schirmer has been promoted as director of audit & product development. He will focus on P&C underwriting changes and product development.

Schirmer joined Capitol in June 2003 as underwriting manager of Capitol Specialty Insurance, becoming director of underwriting – general agents in April 2005.

Capitol said as it Capitol continues to offer new initiatives to better serve customers, which include ‘FasTrack’, new product initiatives and innovative technologies, this position will ensure they have focus on these strategic initiatives.
