Policies will be underwritten by W. R. Berkley Syndicate 1967
Berkley Life Sciences (BLS), a member of W. R. Berkley Corporation that provides insurance products and services to life science customers, has expanded its international capabilities through W. R. Berkley Syndicate 1967 (BS), a new syndicate at Lloyd’s of London.
BLS stated that the clinical trials liability cover will be available from July 15, 2009, to its customers who are conducting clinical trials outside of the US. Policies will be underwritten by BS.
According to BLS, Clinical trials liability cover includes features such as technology support a web-enabled application and country specific intelligence, a database containing an overview of requirements of various countries.
Jill Wadlund, President, BLS, said: “This new capability leverages our international reach and provides access to local knowledge that can help our customers overcome the challenges they face when seeking to conduct clinical trials outside of the United States in an effective and compliant manner.
