The British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) has appointed AllClear Insurance as the provider of its new non standard medical travel scheme.

BIBA said the scheme, exclusively available to BIBA members, complements its existing travel insurance product and extends the offering to include cover for elderly travelers and those with pre-existing medical conditions.

The medical travel will allow association members to provide travel insurance to people on existing hospital waiting lists and those still undergoing medical treatment, including chemotherapy.

The scheme will also offer optional ‘Travelling Companion’ cover, providing others in the travelling party, not covered directly under the policy, cover if the medical condition of the insured forces them to also cancel their trip.

BIBA added that with this scheme, its members will be able to provide customers a quote for everyone in the traveling party covering virtually any medical or age scenario, resulting in enhanced customer satisfaction and customer retention.

AllClear head of product development Chris Blackman said this is a terrific opportunity for the company to get closer to the wider broker community and AllClear is convinced that it will prove very popular to brokers wanting to offer a comprehensive service to their customers.

AllClear has been the market providing travel insurance to those with pre-existing medical conditions.
