Associated Underwriter (AUI), a growing commercial insurance wholesaler specializing in the trucking and transportation industry, has announced that its online insurance rater has recently been updated to be more user-friendly with an improved rating system.

Physical Damage Insurance covers damage sustained to truck drivers’ tractors and trailers in accidents such as collisions, overturns or rolls. It also covers the cost of damage caused by other accidents, including fire, theft, vandalism and some natural disasters.

This coverage is not required by law, but if a vehicle is financed, the lienholder will most likely require it. Physical Damage Insurance provides the trucker or motor carrier with the assurance that their vehicles are protected and that their livelihood will not be compromised.

"From collisions to floods, accidents can happen at any time – it’s important that truck drivers obtain Physical Damage Insurance to protect their vehicles," says Clinton Alexander, Business Development Manager of AUI. "At AUI, we make it easy to find the best rates. We can serve your needs with fleet sizes ranging from the single owner operator to large operations of 1,000+ units. Our updated insurance rater is now easier to use and designed for faster and greater insurance coverage. The site offers instant rate indications and some of the most competitive rates in the market for almost all trucking operations."

Coverage is written through our United Truckers Association Master Facility, which features special benefits for drivers and owner operators. In addition to the usual classes of big rig operations, the Online Rating System accepts New Ventures, Auto Haulers, and Dump Trucks and offers multiple cost-saving deductible options.

Trailer Interchange coverage and Non-Owned Trailer coverage are also available, and Non-Trucking Liability coverage for Leased Owner Operators is offered as well.
