Aspen US Insurance has appointed Ken Cornell as new executive vice president, to lead Aspen Specialty's environmental liability team.
Cornell will be based in New York and report to Mario Vitale, president of Aspen US Insurance.
Cornell has 26 years of insurance experience focused entirely on environmental business, joined Allied World Assurance to lead its start-up in environmental business having built a retail, and brokerage team at JCH Environmental Insurance Brokerage, a division of Crump Group.
He joined AIG in 1985, where his roles included chief underwriting officer at AIG Environmental with management responsibility for both middle market and national accounts divisions.
Vitale said Ken brings considerable expertise in the field of environmental insurance and is well placed to strengthen and grow the business.
Aspen US writes property, casualty and specialty insurance in the US on both a surplus lines and admitted basis through Aspen Specialty Insurance and Aspen American Insurance.
