Arthur J. Gallagher & Co has acquired Detlefs Johnson & Partners as part of its merger strategy in a bid to add depth to its geographic presence and client capabilities.

As part of the transaction, Philip Detlefs, Gary Johnson, Amanda Hamilton and their associates will continue to operate in their current location under the direction of John Neumaier, South Central Regional executive vice president of Gallagher’s employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations.

Further details regarding the transaction were not disclosed.

Detlefs was established in the 1970s and offers a range of employee benefit consultation, human resource and insurance benefit brokerage services for their clients across the southern and central US.

The firm also specializes in group health, life, disability, dental, retirement planning and human resource services.
