Arthur J. Gallagher, a US-based insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, has appointed Sherry Barrat as new director of its board.
Barrat, who has more than 40 years of management, operational and financial experience, currently serves as a director of NextEra Energy, and Prudential Insurance Funds. She is a member of the Women Corporate Directors’ global advisory board.
During her 22-year tenure at Northern Trust, Barrat served in various leadership roles and was a member of the Northern Trust management committee. She retired as vice chairman of Northern Trust last year.
Barrat was also global president of Northern Trust’s personal financial services business.
