The Excess and Surplus Lines (E&S) business segment of Argo Group International Holdings has appointment Michael Denton as senior vice president of its specialty property department.

He brings 22 years of experience in the property underwriting field and has recently served as senior vice president of brokerage property at General Star Management Company. He was with USF Reinsurance and Hartford Insurance Group.

Also joining Argo’s specialty property department is Andrew Robinson, who will report to Denton. Mr Robinson was vice president with Direct Fac Reinsurance, where he was responsible for production and new business development, as well as managing a difference-in-conditions book of business.

With more than two decades of experience in the property business, Michael brings a dimension to our strategy that will allow us to better position Argo Group’s specialty property business in the US.”

I am confident Michael’s contribution will not only benefit Argo’s US primary property footprint but will also be a real asset to Argo Group’s property insurance and reinsurance initiatives on the whole.”
