Argo Group International Holdings, an underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products in the property and casualty market, has named Barbara Sutherland to the position of general counsel for the group's US operations.
Ms Sutherland is currently the senior vice president of claims division at Argo Group. Prior to joining Argo Group, she held positions as senior vice president, secretary and general counsel for six years at PMA Insurance Group.
Ms Sutherland succeeds former general counsel Ronald Given, who has left the company to pursue other endeavors.

Given her knowledge of the industry and years of experience, Barbara is uniquely qualified to manage the legal affairs of Argo Group’s US insurance operations.
