Aon, a global provider of risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage, and human capital consulting and outsourcing, has appointed Steve Betts, currently the chief information officer for Aon Benfield, as new global chief information officer for Aon.
Betts will begin his new role immediately and will report to Christa Davies, Aon’s executive vice president and chief financial officer. He also will continue in his current role at Aon Benfield until a replacement is named.
Betts joined Aon in 2003, and has held various technology leadership positions across multiple divisions and geographies. Most recently, he led the Aon Benfield information technology integration and established a global application rationalization program within the business.
Aon executive vice president and chief financial officer Christa Davies said, with his global team, Steve will provide the leadership necessary to work with each of Aon’s business units to deliver the infrastructure and innovative technology necessary to more effectively serve clients.
“In this new role he also will improve our ability to collaborate across our businesses and support the overall growth strategy of the firm,” Davies said.
