Aon has appointed Steve McGill as group president to oversee development and execution of the firm’s overall growth strategy with primary focus on its risk businesses namely, Aon Risk Solutions and Aon Benfield.
In this capacity, McGill will lead in putting Aon in a stronger position to deliver value for clients and in reaching the firm’s growth objectives.
Commenting on the new appointment, Aon president and chief executive officer Greg Case said Steve’s leadership has been instrumental in developing the firm’s teams and building Aon Risk Solutions into the preeminent risk management and insurance brokerage firm.
"We are excited that he is taking on this new role and confident he will bring the same focus, passion and leadership capabilities he has demonstrated in Aon Risk Solutions to the rest of the firm," Case added.
Having joined Aon in 2005, McGill will continue to maintain his role as chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Risk Solutions and will report to Case.
