Ameritas Life Insurance has acquired Security Life Insurance Company of America and Security Health Insurance Company of America, New York.
Security Life is specialized in the ancillary benefits market, providing dental and vision insurance products and services to consumers and employee groups.
Focused on individual insurance and small to mid-size employer group business, Security Life provides products in all 50 states of the US.
Working through Security Life’s general agent distribution network, Ameritas Life’s group division will change over Security Life business throughout this year.
Ameritas group division offers dental, vision and hearing care products and services to consumers and employee groups.
Ameritas group division executive vice president Karen Gustin said: "It is our intention to maintain the Security Life small group focus while introducing Ameritas’ vast dental, vision, hearing care and LASIK products to this distribution.
"Security Life’s individual dental and vision products will mean even more plan choices in the Ameritas growing individual product portfolio, expanding our ability to offer our members a plan that is the right fit for their needs."
Through its affiliated firms, Ameritas Life provides a wide range of insurance and financial services to its customers across the US.
It offers life insurance, annuities, group dental, vision and hearing care insurance, individual disability income insurance, retirement plans, investments and public finance services.
