American Fidelity (AFC) has appointed David Thompson as president and CEO of its trust and investment management group composed of several companies including InvesTrust and will replace the existing president and CEO, Dan Junkin.

Junkin had been with the company for 14 years and will continue to support Thompson during the transition.

Thompson will be head of AFC’s asset management subsidiary, ASC Holding, to provide investment advice to individuals, foundations and corporations seeking to optimize returns while safeguarding equity which was established in 1997.

Prior to AFC, Thompson was former president and publisher of OPUBCO Communications group. He also served as vice president of advertising for the Charlotte Observer, the largest news organization in North Carolina.

Thompson is the immediate past chairman of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and has chaired the United Way Campaign in 2009.

AFC entities include American Fidelity Assurance, Asset Services, American Fidelity General, American Fidelity Health Services Administration, American Fidelity Property and the Alcott, among other holdings.
