Alterra Capital appoints new MD of Alterra USA

Alterra Capital Holdings has appointed Daniel Gamble as new managing director of Alterra USA.

Gamble has over 15 years of experience in professional liability underwriting, most recently as executive vice president, Executive Assurance with Arch Insurance Group.

Prior to joining Arch in 2002, Gamble served as an assistant vice president in the Financial Institutions underwriting department for Hartford Financial Products Group and as an underwriter for the Financial Institution Group at Gulf Insurance.

Alterra president and CEO Marston Becker said the addition of Dan Gamble to the Alterra USA team is an important step as Alterra seek to build out the underwriting capability of US insurance operations.

“We expect that he will successfully develop a profitable book of executive liability business in the US, to complement the insurance business that Alterra successfully underwrites in its Bermuda and Dublin platforms,” Becker said.
