Allied World US and the American Professional Agency (APA) have launched a medical malpractice insurance program for psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants who serve in the field of behavioral health.

The stand-alone coverage program provides coverage tailored to the exposures faced by nurse practitioners and physician assistants providing psychiatric and mental health-related services when supervised by a licensed psychiatrist.

Under the program, legal liability, personal and advertising injury, privacy, and licensing board complaint coverage are provided to psychiatrists.

In addition, the program also provides risk management services and support for policyholders.

Allied World US programs senior vice president Grace Meek said that the company has worked with APA for several years providing comprehensive, specialized programs for professionals in the field.

"We are proud to partner with them again on this new program and are confident that our tailored coverage and risk management services will be highly beneficial for our mutual clients," Meek added.
