Allied World Re US, a subsidiary of Allied World Assurance Company Holding, has launched a global Marine and Specialty division that will initially offer reinsurance for marine, aviation, satellite and crop reinsurance on a global basis.
Allied World has also appointed Kevin Marine as new senior vice president, head of Global Marine and Specialty. Marine has more than 20 years of experience in the reinsurance industry.
Marine will be based in New York and report directly to Thomas Kelly, chief underwriting officer for Allied World Re US.
Prior to joining Allied World Re US, Marine was most recently senior vice president, chief operating officer and chief underwriting officer for Platinum Underwriters Reinsurance, in New York.
Kelly said the the global marine and specialty division as part of Allied World Re US commitment to provide clients and brokers withthe most comprehensive reinsurance solutions.
"I am confident that Kevin’s extensive experience and reputation in these industry segments will be an invaluable asset as we look to support this business both in North America and abroad," Kelly said.
