Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life) has promoted Tom Spangler as senior director, business unit controls office, in the operations division.
Spangler will manage the operational changes, essential to comply with federal and state regulations, internal and external examinations, as well as proactive risk management initiatives.
Reporting to enterprise operations control vice president Denise Settimi, Spangler will also spearhead sustaining and maturing operations controls, according to the underwriter.
Expressing his views on the new appointment, Denise said, "Tom has extensive compliance knowledge and strong leadership skills that have helped Operations manage the controls and regulatory requirements related to our business."
Spangler joined Allianz Life in 2010, as a principal controls consultant in the operations controls department.
His prior experience includes assistant director in operations compliance for The Hartford Financial Services Group in Woodbury, Minnesota, where he headed department of business unit compliance professionals.
