Allianz has appointed Bruce Bowers, current regional CEO of Allianz Asia Pacific, as new CEO of Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and North Africa Region (CEEMA) of Allianz, effective 1 February 2011.
Based in Munich, Bowers will succeed Manuel Bauer, who will become member of the board of management of Allianz, as announced previously.
Bowers has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, in both life and general insurance. Over the past 10 years, he held a number of CEO positions for Allianz Group.
Allianz has also appointed Kamesh Goyal as new CEO of Allianz Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. Goyal, currently is country manager of Allianz’ operations in India and CEO of Bajaj Allianz Life. Goyal joined Allianz in 1999 and first headed Bajaj Allianz General Insurance.
The insurer said that Varghese Philip, currently chief operating officer of Bajaj Allianz Life will be new CEO of Bajaj Allianz Life. Philip joined Allianz in 1999 and has been part of Allianz’s India Insurance operations right from its inception, in various capacities.
All management changes are subject to approval of the respective regulatory authorities.
