Alliant Insurance Services, an insurance brokerage firm, has promoted Jim Castle to group president of Driver Commercial Group, its west coast commercial brokerage unit.

In his new position, Mr Castle will focus on expanding the specialty operations of the group, which services the various insurance needs of middle market businesses, providing property and casualty, workers’ compensation, and employee benefits.

Mr Castle, who joined Alliant Insurance in 2000, will continue in his role as leader of the company’s national construction practice. In this position, he manages the placement of insurance programs for large construction projects nationwide and is responsible for the strategic planning, resource allocation, carrier relations, and coordination of services for the construction practice.
