Alliant Insurance Services, a US-based insurance brokerage firm, has appointed Lee Howell as vice president in its Alpharetta, Georgia, office. He will head Alliant's national forest products practice.

Mr Howell, who comes to Alliant after heading his own risk management consulting firm, has more than 20 years of insurance experience, including 17 years in the forest products industry, where he has focused on primary and secondary manufacturers and treaters, as well as timber real estate investment trusts (REITs).
