US-based guaranteed-renewable insurance provider Aflac has rolled out a new cancer care insurance policy in New Jersey, which caters four plan options to best fit employees' personal and financial needs.

Since cancer diagnosis may trigger financial distress for employees and their families, the new cancer care policy offers cash benefits to policyholders diagnosed with cancer, including some blood disorders and melanoma.

Aflac worksite marketing senior vice president John Harmeling said that fighting cancer is an emotionally difficult experience and one that already carries tremendous stress and anxiety along with it.

"Our Cancer Care policies are designed to help alleviate the financial stress associated with a cancer diagnosis and treatment, so that patients can focus fully on their recovery," Harmeling added.

Designed to provide out-of-pocket expenses, generally not covered by major medical insurance, Aflac’s Cancer Care base plan assists policyholders who may undergo radiation therapy, experimental treatment, bone marrow transplants, and more.

Headquartered in Georgia, Aflac also offers supplemental health and life insurance through its subsidiaries. Its individual and group insurance products offer protection to over 50 million people globally.
