Affirmative Insurance Holdings, a distributor and producer of non-standard personal automobile insurance policies, has appointed current president of insurance products and services Gary Kusumi as new CEO, effective 1 October 2010.
Kusumi will also join the board of directors. He will be replacing Kevin Callahan, who will be resigning. However, Callahan will remain as director of the company and chairman of the board.
In his role as chairman of the board, Callahan will assist Kusumi on strategic matters while Kusumi will take complete responsibility for the daily management of the company.
Callahan said that Gary’s career spans 30 years with many of the major companies in the market. He has been a senior executive at Progressive and other personal lines insurance companies and served for 10 years as CEO of GMAC’s personal lines insurance business.
