Health insurer Aetna and Atlanta- based Piedmont Healthcare have entered into a new three-year contract that enable Aetna members to receive covered benefits from Piedmont Healthcare.
Under the agreement, Aetna members in the Atlanta area will continue to receive covered benefits, at in-network rates, from the four hospitals within Piedmont Healthcare Piedmont Hospital, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, and Piedmont Newnan Hospital and the affiliated outpatient centers and services.
Members of Aetna will also have access to over 700 physicians in the Piedmont Clinic, Piedmont Physicians Group and Piedmont Heart Institute.
Aetna Georgia market president John Price said the company has long valued its relationship with Piedmont Healthcare, and happy to have reached an agreement that includes Piedmont’s hospitals and doctors in network for another three years.
Aetna provides health benefits to more than 500,000 people in Georgia. In the Atlanta area, members have access to a network that includes 165 contracted hospitals and more than 15,000 primary care physicians and specialists.
