Aetna, a US-based healthcare solutions provider, is providing provide its international and domestic healthcare benefits and services to Swiss Life’s multinational customers, as part of a strategic partnership between both companies.
Starting 1 September 2013, Aetna will join the Swiss Life Network as its partner in the US.
Swiss Life Network CEO Margrit Schmid said, "Aetna’s strength in health management analytics, technology and wellness solutions also holds great possibilities for us to provide even broader solutions for our customers in the future.
Under the partnership, Aetna will offer a portfolio of insurance products and services Swiss Life’s multinational customers to meet the needs of their US workforce.
In addition, Swiss Life’s multinational clients can access Aetna’s domestic employee benefits products and services for their US-based workforces.
The partnership will also open a new distribution channel for Aetna’s short-term international health coverage for business travelers, WorldTraveler.
Swiss Life Network is an association of 60 insurance firms and business partners in 70 nations.
