The ACE Group has hired Timothy O’Donnell as executive vice president of financial lines for its international insurance operations, effective 1 June 2012.

In this role, O’Donnell will be responsible for the company’s directors and officers liability, financial institutions, errors and omissions, and surety businesses in 50 countries throughout the Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions.

Based in London, O’Donnell will report to David Furby, ACE Overseas General division president of Commercial property & Casualty.

 

O’Donnell succeeds David Robinson, who was recently named division president of UK & Ireland.

The company has also named Scott Meyer as division president of professional risk of ACE USA.

In his role, Meyer will have executive oversight of ACE USA’s management and professional liability lines of business, which span public, private, not-for-profit, and financial institutions directors and officers coverages and its errors and omissions and privacy and network security product suite.

Based in New York, Meyer will report to Christopher Maleno, Chief Operating Officer, ACE USA.

Stephen Haney has been appointed division president of Surety for ACE USA, and chief underwriting officer of Global Surety.

In this newly created role, Haney will be responsible for the company’s commercial and contract surety operations in the US and for overseeing the underwriting of ACE’s surety offerings globally.

Based in Philadelphia, he will report to Maleno for US operations and to O’Donnell for international operations.

Nicholas Small has been appointed chief underwriting officer of international financial lines.

In this newly created role, Small will be responsible for developing new products, setting underwriting guidelines and authorities, assisting with underwriting strategy and coordinating portfolio management for ACE’s international financial lines business.

Based in London, Small will report to O’Donnell.
