Hyatt Legal Plans, a subsidiary of MetLife Company and a provider of group legal plans, has acquired Allstate’s group legal plans business, known as 'Signature LegalCare'. The financial terms of transaction were not disclosed.

According to MetLife, with this acquisition Hyatt Legal Plans will demonstrate service and capabilities to Allstate’s signature LegalCare sponsors and plan members, including access to the US attorney network. It will be working over the next several weeks to make the administrative transitions efficient.

The Allstate is a publicly held personal lines insurer. The company provides consumers with access to its insurance products including auto, home, life and retirement plans and services through its agencies, independent agencies, and financial representatives in the US and Canada.

Patrick O’Brien, assistant vice president of Allstate, said: “The size and strength of MetLife and the expertise of Hyatt Legal Plans are assurances that this business acquisition is in the best interest of customers.”
