Aon Corporation, a provider of risk management, insurance and reinsurance brokerage services, has selected The Leadenhall Building as its new future London headquarters.

The Leadenhall Building will stand 224 meters tall and will be situated opposite Lloyd’s of London on Leadenhall Street EC2.

The building, dubbed the Cheese Grater due to its unique design, is due for completion in mid 2014. Aon will occupy the lower ten floors, which will be known as The Aon Centre, from early 2015.

Aon CEO Robert Brown said the company is delighted to have chosen The Leadenhall Building as the new London headquarters. The Aon Centre at The Leadenhall Building is an impressive location and the offices will reflect its position as the leading global professional services firm focused on risk and human capital management.

"Such a significant investment confirms Aon Corp’s commitment to the UK, and indeed London, as a strategically important and integral part of Aon’s future," Brown said.

The company has recently completed its search for a new London headquarters signing heads of terms with British Land and Oxford Properties on the iconic Leadenhall Building in the City of London. Formal contracts are expected to be completed in the coming months.
