US life and general insurance giant MetLife Financial is apparently looking for agencies to help it launch a major marketing campaign to support its return to the UK market.

MetLife quit the British insurance sector in 1997 after an unsuccessful foray, but it is now set to return following its acquisition of Citigroup’s international operations under the Travelers Life & Annuity business.

Marketing portal Brand Republic has reported that the company is interviewing a number of marketing agencies for its direct account, although the report says that MetLife is refusing to comment directly on the situation.
