ACE Group, a multiline property and casualty insurer, has rolled out it new environmental risk taskforce for Continental Europe, in a bid to boost its client servicing capabilities, who are facing increasingly complex global regulatory environment.

Nicolas Givelet has been appointed as risk engineer in its Continental Europe environmental insurance team, who will manage a new environmental risk engineering taskforce for ACE in the region. He will report to Dorothee Prunier, environmental risk manager for Continental Europe, and will oversee the operations from Paris.

Besides leading and co-operating with a team of specialist external consultants to support specific projects in key markets, Nicolas will also help the pan-European underwriting and claims teams on technical matters, as well as liaising with ACE’s clients and suppliers.

Prunier said, "By building an environmental risk engineering taskforce of internal and external experts, we will ensure that our clients have access to the best possible combination of underwriting and risk engineering expertise both for standalone and multinational programmes."

Prior to accepting the current role, Nicolas was working as environmental risks underwriter for AXA Corporate Solutions, which he joined in 2011.

Before that, he worked four years as environmental risks client advisor at Marsh and prior to that he worked as contaminated land consultant at Burgeap and HPC Envirotec.

Most recently, the company received a license from the Tunisian Ministry of Finance to set up its reinsurance operation in the country, which is part of its continued strategy to boost business across Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
