The Hartford has integrated dental and vision coverage with its group disability and life insurance enabling brokers to create comprehensive benefits packages for small businesses with fewer than 50 employees.

The dental and vision coverage has been added to The Hartford’s online benefits quoting platform.

“Employers want to bundle benefits to create a complete package that helps protect employees’ financial and physical health,” said Donato Monaco, vice president of The Hartford Small Business Benefits Solutions. “The addition of dental and vision makes our quoting platform a one-stop shopping site for small business brokers.”

Using the secure platform, brokers can obtain a quote and proposal for disability, life, accidental death & dismemberment, dental, and vision coverage for companies with four to 49 employees.

The web-based resource allows brokers to respond quickly to their customers by leveraging real-time data and using e-signatures. Dental and vision policies are underwritten by United Concordia Dental carriers and administered, in part, by Howell Benefit Services, Inc., which is The Hartford’s third-party administrator.

In addition to benefits brokers, property and casualty agents (P&C), who want to quote The Hartford’s small business group benefits, including dental and vision, can now also access the online benefits quoting platform through a link on the insurer’sICON agency quoting platform.

“We’re seeing more P&C agents who want to offer their small business clients a quote on a full spectrum of insurance – from business insurance to benefits – and that is why we updated our platforms,” Monaco said.

Dental and vision is the most recent product expansion in support of The Hartford’s growth strategy. Last month The Hartford appointed Jim Villa as the new head accident and health (A&H), responsible for expanding the insurer’s A&H product suite.
