Alterra Capital Holdings, a Bermuda-based provider diversified specialty insurance and reinsurance product, has appointed Bret Hilgart as vice president, underwriter of Alterra USA.
Hilgart will underwrite from the New York office of Alterra USA.
Hilgart has over 11years of executive liability experience, most recently as vice president of IronPro, a division of Ironshore, overseeing management liability and related lines for its central region.
Before Ironshore, he managed the national financial institutions practice for the executive assurance division at Arch Insurance.
Alterra USA president and CEO Doug Worman said Bret is a diligent professional with a wealth of underwriting experience.
"We expect him to become a key member of our executive liability team, which should be well positioned to take advantage of attractive opportunities in this market as and when they arise," Worman said.
