Zurich's UK Life business has appointed David Etherington as its chief growth officer. The company has appointed Jim Sykes as COO, broadening his existing remit as head of legacy to include responsibility for operations and business controls and the legacy remediation program alongside his existing remit.

Mr Etherington will be responsible for all sales and distribution including bancassurance, broker sales, new distribution, and combine them with his existing sales and marketing responsibilities for Zurich Group Protection, Zurich Corporate Pensions and Proposition Management and Development. Mr Etherington will also take on responsibility for life marketing. He previously held the role of COO for Zurich’s UK Life business.

Paul Kenmir, currently e-capability director, is to take on the role of head of outsourcing, IT and change. In his new position Mr Kenmir will be responsible for ISS delivery, Zurich’s program management office and overall change program.

In addition, Zurich has announced that Tim Bailey has joined Zurich Life’s leadership team from AXA to take over the position of strategy and planning director from Gary Williams, who is to move to the global life central team. Mr Bailey will be responsible for business planning.
