Zurich’s UK General Insurance (UKGI), part of Zurich Insurance, has appointed Anne Torry as a new managing director of Zurich Municipal division, effective 1 March 2011. Torry will replace Rob Allison, who will retire in Spring 2011.
Torry has worked for Zurich for more than fifteen years, in a various roles across the business including head of organizational development and shared services, head of property investors, claims director.
She also worked as commercial, operations director for Zurich Commercial and Municipal, and most recently as chief operating officer for UK General Insurance (UKGI).
In addition, Zurich has also appointed Claudio Gienal as new chief operating officer, UKGI effective 1 February 2011.
Gienal joined Zurich in 2008 and is currently head of operational transformation in group operations in Zurich.
Zurich UKGI business CEO Stephen Lewis said Torry and Gienal will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new roles and really help in driving UK General insurance business forward in the future.
