Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) has made several changes to its management structure and related senior management appointments, which will be effective as of July 1, 2010.

Zurich said that it has appointed Mario Greco as the new CEO of General Insurance, Kevin Hogan as the new CEO of Global Life and Paul Hopkins will be continuing as the chairman of board of Farmers Group.

In addition, Kristof Terryn has been appointed as the new Group head of operations. He will be responsible for the Group’s shared services, IT and driving its operational transformation initiatives.

According to Zurich, it is also refining its regional structure, creating a new role of regional chairman and focusing that role on stakeholder management and business development. The senior executives to head its three geographic regions include: Paul Hopkins as regional chairman of the Americas; Geoff Riddell as regional chairman of Asia-Pacific & Middle East; and Dieter Wemmer, currently CFO, as regional chairman of Europe & Africa.

Martin Senn, CEO of Zurich, said: “These appointments streamline our management structure and reaffirm our successful segment strategy. The segment heads will be responsible for their businesses globally, which will accelerate decision-making and speed to market.

“Aligning our shared services and IT operations globally will drive our ongoing transformational initiatives. And the regional chairmen will ensure a strong focus on long-term business development and strategic relationships with all our stakeholders.”
