Guidewire Software, a provider of core systems to property/casualty insurers, said that Zurich Insurance Company of Japan (Zurich Japan), has deployed its ClaimCenter to provide reassurance to its customers throughout the claims handling process.

The company said that the new claims management system, which Zurich Japan refers to as ‘Z-Trust’, is processing Zurich Japan’s auto and motorcycle claims. Z-Trust will be extended to additional branches with full deployment in March 2010.

According to Guidewire, the ClaimCenter is now offering Zurich Japan to provide reassurance to its customers throughout the claims handling process including the ability for customers to self-check claim status online; realize faster claims settlement timeframes for better customer service.

In addition, the Guidewire ClaimCenter will also provide respond to customer inquiries in a timely fashion with electronic claim files and centrally managed claim data; and become an environmentally-friendly paperless claims organization.

Amanda Curley, chief information officer of Zurich Japan, said: “Guidewire’s technology is enabling us to provide our customers with the high quality service and care that is at the heart of our corporate philosophy. Our claims handlers have a state-of-the-art system to work with and we are better equipped to respond to rapidly changing industry regulations and business needs.”

In April 2009, Zurich Japan has selected Guidewire ClaimCenter as technology solution and engaged Ernst & Young to help with implementation.
