Property-casualty insurance group Zurich has launched its new interface platform, ZPass, which will enable small commercial business agents in the US to access real-time quoting.

The new ZPass allows agents to conduct their commercial lines business more efficiently in real-time without duplicate data entry. Through a single transaction, agents have the ability to process quotes and proposals directly from their agency management systems without the need to re-key the data into a point-of-sale system.

Agents can electronically upload client data, obtain quotes, generate proposals and issue policies in real-time for their customers purchasing a business owner’s policy, and commercial auto, commercial umbrella and workers’ compensation coverage.

With the addition of quoting to its existing real-time inquiry and commercial download capabilities, Zurich is providing its agents with the ability to support their workflow from quote to policy issuance and from download to inquiry transactions. Zurich plans to continue adding transactions to its real-time platform.

ZPass is delivered by the SeaPass Hub technology platform that leverages existing systems and enables them to interact automatically with one another. Zurich’s addition to the SeaPass Hub provides users with the ability to conduct successful transactions and easily market total solutions to clients.

ZPass will be available, starting in April 2008, to Zurich-appointed agents who are subscribers to the SeaPass Hub.
