Zurich, a property and casualty insurance provider, has appointed Steve Gillen as global head of marine claims, who will work with regional marine leadership and regional claims organizations to oversee the company's claims proposition in support of the global marine specialty practice, and enhance claims capabilities.

Mr Gillen has more than 25 years of experience in marine claims and risk engineering, most recently serving as senior vice president and president at Chartis Marine Claims Adjusters. Previosuly, he held various senior level positions within the industry. He also served as the chairman of the service committee for the American Institute of Marine Underwriters for the last eight years.
