To launch inland marine business in US and Canada

XL Insurance, XL Capital Ltd’s global insurance operations, has appointment Frank Oleskiewicz as vice president and senior underwriter of inland marine, in its marine & offshore energy (MOE) unit in New York.

He reports to Christopher Smith, chief marine and offshore energy underwriter of XL Insurance in North America, and will develop the company’s inland marine business, including such coverages as goods-in-transit and builders risk.

Most recently, Mr Oleskiewicz served as director of inland marine at Catlin Insurance. Prior to this, he was vice president, global property facultative, for General Reinsurance from 1993 to early 2007. He served as many senior level underwriting and management positions with American Home Assurance Company, Royal Insurance Company and New Hampshire Insurance Company.

XL Insurance’s MOE underwriting teams in New York and London provide domestic marine coverages or tailored global insurance programs from a portfolio of Hull, Cargo, Offshore Energy and Marine Liability insurance.
