Global insurance and reinsurance provider XL has opened a new office in Lyon, France and appointed Auberi Etienne and Clotilde Bartok as senior casualty underwriter middle market and property underwriter middle market respectively.
Based in the new office in Lyon, Etienne and Bartok will work along with underwriters from the property, casualty, professional and specialty lines to serve middle market companies and regional client base in Rhone Alpes and Provence-Alpes Cote d’Azur.
XL’s International Middle Market business chief underwriting officer Daniel Maurer said, "Our new office in Lyon, France’s 2nd largest economic centre, is a continuation of our strategy to expand our network in order to provide clients and brokers in key regions direct access to local and international underwriting expertise and services."

With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Etienne served Hiscox as regional director for South-East France, prior to joining XL as well as AIG Europe and Zurich Insurance.
Before joining XL, Bartok held service with Generali as property underwriter and also served at Zurich Insurance and AXA.
