Insurer XL Group has appointed Peter Porrino as the new executive vice president and chief financial officer, and will serve on the company's leadership team.
Porrino, who is expected to join in late August, has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He will reporting to XL CEO Mike McGavick.
Since 1999, Porrino has served as Ernst & Young’s global insurance industry leader. In that role, he oversees the firm’s worldwide insurance industry delivery of client services, thought leadership and strategic planning.
Previous to Ernst & Young, his experience include Zurich Financial Services, where he served as CFO of the company’s US-based reinsurance subsidiary.
McGavick said Peter’s considerable insurance industry experience, combined with his broad background in corporate operations and global finance, make him the ideal addition to XL.
