Monitor Liability Managers, a member company of WR Berkley Corporation, has introduced a new social media endorsement for the employment practices liability (EPL) insurance policies it underwrites.
Monitor Liability said that the new endorsement defines social media and workplace bullying, expands the definition of a wrongful act to include workplace bullying and offers new social media coverage under third party liability.
Coverage will be provided by W R Berkley’s member companies Admiral Insurance and Carolina Casualty Insurance.
Monitor Liability Managers president Sandra Nelson said Monitor is defining social media in an EPL policy and to provide a sublimit for claims of defamation, libel or invasion of privacy of a third party occurring from an insured’s use of social media.
"This endorsement keeps the coverage in our policy current with trends in social media usage and eliminates any gray areas by defining what is covered," Nelson said.
